The weak and vulnerable are oppressed, and those who speak with boldness often boast in their rebellion against God. This reality can lead us to despair, but Psalm 12 reminds us of an enduring truth: in the midst of a faithless world, God is faithful.
David’s words in this psalm capture both his anguish over the wickedness of his generation and his unshakable confidence in God. While his lament resonates with us today, the ultimate hope and fulfillment of this psalm are found in Jesus Christ, who is our faithful Savior and King.
