Imagine a man trying to warm himself on a cold morning by staring at a painting of the sun.
He studies the brushstrokes, analyzes the colors, and appreciates the artistry.
But he never steps outside to feel the sun’s actual warmth.
That is what it’s like to know about Christ without truly beholding His glory.
But let me ask you this: How often are our eyes fixed there—on Him, beholding His glory?
Is it not true that many days, we look more at our failures, our distractions, or the glitter of the world than at the face of Christ?
Some of us, if we are honest, live as though the gospel were still veiled, as though we were still under law, still under condemnation, still trying to earn what Christ has already won.
This passage confronts that error with glorious truth.
Paul brings us into the heart of New Covenant ministry—a ministry not of death, but of the Spirit; not of fading glory, but of increasing transformation.
- It’s about beholding Jesus—and being changed.
- Not by striving, but by seeing.
- Not by hiding behind a veil, but by coming into the light of the Lord.
The contrast here is stunning:
Moses, veiled…
Israel, hardened…
But now, in Christ, the veil is removed. The glory does not fade—it transforms.
The apostle is not writing mere theology here—he is calling the church to live in the freedom and power of the Spirit.
To live, not by performance, but by union with Christ.
Not by hiding, but by hope-filled boldness.
Not by fear, but by gospel transformation.
This morning, God is inviting you to step into the light—to lift the veil, to look at Christ with unveiled face, and to be changed.
