Wednesday: Christ is Not Divided

Scripture: “Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?” – 1 Corinthians 1:13

Reflection: Paul’s rhetorical questions to the Corinthians cut to the core of Christian identity and unity. His pointed inquiry challenges any notion that could fragment the body of Christ. Reflect today on the singularity of Christ’s sacrifice and His role as the head of the church. In your personal life, consider whether there are ways you may have consciously or unconsciously contributed to divisions by elevating leaders, doctrines, or personal convictions above Christ Himself.

These questions from Paul serve as a reminder that no human leader, no matter how wise or charismatic, should be the foundation of our faith or our unity. Our allegiance must remain firmly fixed on Christ, who is the true cornerstone of the church. Reflect on your current spiritual practices and community engagements: Are they Christ-centered, or have other influences begun to take precedence?

Prayer: Lord Jesus, You are the head of the church and the cornerstone of our faith. Forgive me for the times I have allowed other influences to divide my loyalty or focus. Help me to always remember that You alone are my Savior, that You alone were crucified for me, and that I am baptized in Your name alone. Realign my heart and my priorities so that You are always at the center of my life. Strengthen my commitment to live out this truth in a way that promotes unity and glorifies Your name. Amen.

Action Step: Today, take time to evaluate any church activities, teachings, or relationships that might be causing division or distraction from the central message of the Gospel. If you find such areas, consider how you can gently and respectfully bring conversations and practices back to Christ. Whether it’s a small group, Sunday school class, or personal study, make a conscious effort to center the discussion around Jesus and His teachings, ensuring that He remains the focal point of all that you do.
