Imagine for a moment the scene at a graveside. The air is heavy with sorrow, the finality of death pressing upon the hearts of those gathered. In such moments, the question arises: Is this the end? Is death the final word?
This is not merely a question for the grieving; it is a question for every human heart. The answer shapes how we live, what we value, and where we place our hope. For Christians, the answer is found in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is the foundation of our faith, the source of our hope, and the promise of life everlasting.
But what happens when this cornerstone is called into question? That was the situation in the church at Corinth. Some were saying there is no resurrection of the dead, undermining the very gospel that had brought them salvation. The Apostle Paul writes with urgency, defending the resurrection of Christ and its implications for every believer.
Today, we will walk through 1 Corinthians 15:12-34 and see three essential truths:
- The resurrection is central to the gospel and our faith.
- Christ’s resurrection guarantees the resurrection of all believers and the ultimate triumph of His kingdom.
- This truth shapes our lives, giving us courage in suffering, steadfastness in holiness, and hope beyond the grave.
