AM Sermon 18 May 2025
Have you ever been let down by someone who didn’t keep their word? Maybe a friend promised to help but never showed up. Maybe a leader said one thing but did another. Broken promises shake our confidence and make us question whom we can trust.
Paul, in this passage, was accused of being unreliable because he changed his travel plans. But instead of defending himself based on personal justification, he points to something greater—the unwavering faithfulness of God.
Main Idea:
Paul’s response teaches us two critical truths:
- Christian integrity must reflect God’s faithfulness. Paul acted with sincerity and a clear conscience, not by worldly wisdom (v. 12).
- God’s promises are unshakable because they are fulfilled in Christ. “For all the promises of God find their Yes in him” (v. 20).
